Project Chestnut
This mountain home was already in the process of being renovated by a developer as a spec house when my clients were introduced to the project. There were already so many wonderful architectural ideas and thoughtful details in motion, which created an incredibly strong foundation from the beginning. One of my favorite elements is the reclaimed stained wood that was salvaged and incorporated throughout the house, particularly on the ceilings. I love that it serves as a subtle nod to what the home used to be while adding so much warmth, texture, and authenticity to the interiors.
The vision for the interiors was to create a home that felt warm, layered, and collected while still embracing the relaxed nature of mountain living. Because this is a home designed for family gatherings, we focused on high-performance materials, durable finishes, and furnishings that feel elevated without being precious.
